OUR FILMS

Coming 2026 Debut Feature Film Untitled

In July 2023, the idea for our first feature film was born. We ran the first co-designed campaigns for our new film in Fall 2023. Via Sticky Feet Movie screenings, co-designed filmmaking workshops, tabling with donuts, and classroom visits, we polled over 1000 students at the University of Georgia, Amherst College, NC State, UNC-Chapel Hill, Elon University, Columbia University, and New York University about the plot of our next movie. (Shoutout to the students and faculty there - we love y’all.)

Students from the above universities were the first members of our participatory audience community for this project. They determined the basic plot points of our film:

Three characters.

Feeling romantically inexperienced.

Last day of school.

With these decisions made, we can begin developing our next movie. Future opportunities to co-design with us and our next fundraising campaign will be announced soon. We are currently hiring for our intern writers room - please visit the Join The Team page if interested.

Released 2023 Sticky Feet Movie

The Short Film

Sticky Feet is a comedy, coming-of-age short film that was created by UNC Chapel Hill students in 2022-23.

Sticky Feet follows the high expectations, anxieties, and missteps of college student Shelby when throwing her roommate, Brynna, a 21st “slutfest of a rager” birthday party - the first party they’ve hosted since covid. Our participatory audience was made up of nearly 400 UNC Chapel Hill students.

You can read more about it in The Daily Tar Heel: https://www.dailytarheel.com/article/2023/01/university-sticky-feet-student-film-unc-chapel-hill.

Our Instagram is how we connected with our participatory audience community.

Sticky Feet premiered at a local theater in Chapel Hill to a sold out show of 220 people, far surpassing typical turnout for student and local independent film screenings in the area. The event was free and funded by a $600 university grant - but the team earned $450 in donations from audience goers. We received an additional $1,340 from the university to put on an additional community screening on campus the following month.

Using Instagram polls and in person events around campus, Sticky Feet offered the UNC student body several opportunities to give feedback, suggest ideas, and make story decisions throughout the production process.
